Online dating saved our relationship
Friday, March 11th, 2011My significant other and I have been together for 5 1/2 years. We reached the seven year itch a couple of years too early. Everything she did despised me and everything that I am made her disgusted. So we went along for about a year talking to each other as little as possible. We would avoid each other’s eyes and take extra measure not to even cross each other’s path in the hallway of our own house. We were past the point of fighting and we really didn’t even care to bother with it anymore.
When she traveled for work, I was indifferent. Whether she was home or thousands of miles away, it didn’t matter. I believe she felt the same way too. When we had to communicate regarding bills or something like that, we’d end up in a huge dramatic situation. Nothing could be normal with us. We both grew tired of the dysfunction.
I didn’t know that she had been using Online dating sites until later. I had signed up for a free online site myself just to see what was out there but I wasn’t too thrilled about this. I knew I wasn’t ready. Both of us kept this online dating thing a secret from each other.
The one day I met the most amazing girl who changed everything. We dated online for three months. She was my soul mate. She was everything that I had dreamed about and I was her knight in shining armor. She was nothing like the girl who I was living with and I was faced with the decision of how to tell my “SO” that it was over. By this time, I felt she, too, knew it was over and was ready to move on.
One day while I was on the phone, I accidentally left my laptop on and was still logged into Koopa. My so-called girlfriend discovered that I was chatting to another girl online. BUSTED! Now here is the kicker …. she was speechless when she found out that SHE was the one I had been dating online and I was completely stunned!!! We both used fake names! Talk about surprised!
So, you see, online dating saved our relationship.
